Type of Invisalign that will work best for you

Share

Invisalign is a popular Orthodontic system which uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners to provide you with the perfect smile you always wanted. It can work to correct malocclusions like crossbites, overbites, underbites, spacing of teeth, crowded teeth, and open bites. The duration of the Invisalign treatment depends on your existing malocclusion and the dedication you put into the treatment procedure.

Based on your age, the condition of your teeth, and the malocclusions you have, the type of Invisalign that needs to be used may vary.

Types of Invisalign treatments are:

Invisalign Full or Invisalign Comprehensive treatment

invisalign product photoInvisalign Comprehensive, formerly known as Invisalign Full or Invisalign Complete is considered the most common and general Invisalign treatment. It is used for advanced orthodontic treatments and usually takes about a year to 18 months to complete the procedure, depending on the complexity of the malocclusion. This treatment offers the flexibility of ordering many additional aligners to ensure the treatment results meet the expected plan of the orthodontist.

Invisalign Lite

Invisalign Lite is suitable for patients with minor orthodontic issues and hence takes about 6-7 months of treatment duration compared to Invisalign Comprehensive/Full treatment. The condition may include mild to moderate crowding, spacing, or alignment issues. Invisalign Lite is a quicker option recommended to patients who plan to align the teeth before proceeding for a cosmetic dentistry procedure.

Invisalign Express/ Invisalign i7

Invisalign Express or Invisalign i7 is used only for patients with very minor orthodontic issues like orthodontic relapse, minor crowding, and spacing issues. A specific set of aligners, over 3-6 months, are used to rectify the orthodontic condition.

Invisalign Teen

As the name implies, Invisalign Teen is for patients in their teenage years. During the teen years, the mouth and teeth are constantly growing. The mandibular advancement feature of Invisalign Teen helps fix the malocclusions, providing a straight and attractive smile. Its precision wing mechanism gradually moves the lower jaw, improving the bite and appearance of the chin. Also, the compliance indicator dots in Invisalign Teen help track their proper and timely usage by changing their color from blue to clear ones.

Invisalign First

It helps rectify various teeth alignment issues in children such as crowding, spacing, narrow dental arches, and tooth malposition. By assisting in the development of jaws, it makes room for the existing and incoming permanent teeth resulting in a straight smile. It also keeps children away from oral habits like tongue-thrusting and thumb-sucking. With Invisalign First, one can start seeing the results in about 6 months.
