Cosmetic dental procedures that can give you a beautiful smile!

Share

A cosmetic dental procedure can be either a single or a combination of dental procedures performed to improve the appearance of your teeth. Usually, dental treatments that provide restorative benefits are chosen as cosmetic dental procedures for smile enhancement.

The most common cosmetic dental procedures performed today are the following:

  • Teeth whitening
  • Dental Veneers
  • Dental Implants
  • Dental Crowns and Bridges
  • Orthodontic Braces

1. Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is one of the first things we recommend when you’re considering a smile makeover. It is also known as teeth bleaching, as it can brighten your stained or discolored teeth. Not all types of teeth whitening are the same as they can be done either in the dental clinic or at home. Also, there are various options available like zoom teeth whitening and laser teeth whitening. Zoom teeth whitening is opted if you are short on time and need to get all your teeth brightened up. Laser teeth whitening is opted for when there is a specific tooth that doesn’t show expected results even after the usage of a whitening gel.

Again, not everyone’s teeth can be bleached. So it is very important to consult with your dentist before going for a teeth whitening procedure.

2. Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are thin shells or covers made of porcelain or composite material to give teeth a more attractive look. They are the most advanced type of cosmetic dentistry treatment used worldwide. Veneers are custom-made and bonded to the front side of the tooth. Usually, dental veneers are used to treat dental conditions like slightly crooked teeth, stained teeth, chipped teeth, or to cover small gaps between the teeth.

3. Dental Implants

Dental implants are the primary standard for modern-day tooth replacement and can be considered as part of cosmetic dental procedures as they not only help regain the lost smile but also enhance the original smile to be more attractive. A dental implant is a metal prosthesis designed to replace missing teeth. They fuse with your surrounding bone and eventually become a permanent part of your new smile. Dental implants are usually made out of titanium and are surgically placed into the jawbone in place of the missing tooth.

4. Dental Crowns and Bridges

Dental Crowns are also known as caps and are custom made to fit or cover your whole tooth. Usually, crowns are made of acrylic or porcelain fused to metal to withstand the biting pressure. A dental bridge is made of crowns on both sides of the missing tooth or teeth supporting the false tooth and is cemented in place. Dental crowns or bridges are used in cosmetic dentistry procedures to treat teeth that are poorly shaped, broken, chipped, badly decayed, or have had large fillings, or to cover gaps between teeth.

5. Orthodontic Invisalign Treatmentinvisalign treatment

Invisalign treatment can be considered a cosmetic dentistry method that can replace cosmetic teeth surgery procedures. They are transparent braces made of aligners, instead of fixed brackets and wire braces. They allow patients to straighten their teeth without anyone noticing when compared to porcelain veneers or normal braces which can be embarrassing for many adults.
