  • Laser Dentistry eliminates the Dental Drill

Most children and even adults are fearful of the jarring sound and sensation of the drill during treatment. With the latest Waterlase iPlus laser (the most advanced laser in the market), we are able to treat cavities, even the dental pulp without heat, vibration or the sound of a drill. It is a “Cool” laser, using water and air pressure that produces a popping sound, which is likened to a “popcorn machine” when introduced to young patients by our Pediatric Dentist.

  • Pediatric Dental Care under General Anesthesia

Do you have a difficult child? We provide Pediatric dental care under general anesthesia for children who are extremely apprehensive and unmanageable in the dental chair.

Difficult children with special needs often undergo general anesthesia for dental treatment as a way to avoid risks of injury and excessive stress. Very young children are extremely uncooperative including many with physical & mental limitations often pose a challenge when needing dental treatment. Lack of cooperation, combative behavior and physical limitations can make conventional treatment under local anesthesia very difficult, sometimes impossible.

Unfortunately many children suffer from serious painful dental diseases. Without treatment, dental caries can adversely affect learning, communication, nutrition and other activities necessary for normal growth and development of your child. Hence general anesthesia is a well accepted standard of care for situations involving children who have limited comprehension or who are extremely uncooperative requiring dental care that is technically difficult and sensitive to deliver.

In order to provide high quality and well delivered dental care, dentists often resort to having the treatment under general anesthesia. Comprehensive dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia is a well accepted procedure, which has gained popularity over the years.

We are associated with two major hospitals in Dubai where our Pediatric Dentists treat children under General Anesthesia

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE
Tooth decay begins with dental plaque, a soft, sticky substance that builds up on your teeth. Plaque is mostly made up of bacteria, which feed on sugar from food and drink, producing acids as a waste product. The acids attack the teeth and tooth decay results. For patients who have lot of decay, the pediatric dentistmay recommend extra fluoride, either as tablets or drops, or as a varnish painted onto the teeth. A pediatric dentist can also seal off the decay before it happens, by applying pit and fissure sealants on the tooth surface. Sealants are clear plastic material that is painted on the surface of the tooth. It acts as a barrier to food, plaque and acid, thus protecting the decay prone areas of teeth.

It is recommended to visit a pediatric dentist every six months from the child’s first birthday. Routine visits will start your child on a lifetime of good dental health.

Healthy eating habits lead to healthy teeth. Like the rest of the body, the teeth, bones and the soft tissues of the mouth need a well balanced diet. The children should be advised not to eat hard candy etc. as it remains in the mouth for long time and is precarious. Regular visits to a dentist motivate the child in keeping their mouth clean. Moreover pediatric dentist are trained to handle the wide range of issues associated with your child’s oral health. Your partnership with your pediatric dentist will help ensure your child healthy teeth and a confident bright beautiful smile.
