Ceramic Dental Bridge (for Missing Tooth)
Dental bridges are used to fill in the “teeth gap” created by a missing tooth. A fixed dental bridge almost looks like 3-4 crowns in a row, but only the ones on either end will fit over a tooth or dental implant. The pontic crowns suspended between them span the length of your teeth gap, filling in the open space.
Bridges are used for replacing a missing tooth or pair of teeth. They require a healthy natural tooth on either end for support. But in the instance of 3-4 missing teeth, the ceramic bridge can be supported by a pair of dental implants.

When are crowns and bridges paired with dental implants?
If you have a missing tooth or teeth, dental implants provide a permanent tooth replacement in that space. But the implant is only the “root” portion of your new tooth. You will need a fixed restoration — such as a crown or dental bridge — on top of it to fill in the space above the gum tissues.

How long do dental crowns last?
Dr. Joy Dental Clinic offers a 5-year warranty on our ceramic crowns. However, to ensure your crown lasts as long as possible, you’ll need to brush and floss around it daily. We also recommend sleeping in a nightguard to avoid accidental fractures in the porcelain from teeth grinding.

Can a dental bridge be removed and recemented?
Typically, not. Removing a bridge in the attempt to reattach it could result in failure of the overall restoration. Working with a highly experienced cosmetic dentist will prevent the need for re-setting the fixed restoration.

How long does it take for a dental bridge to settle?
Once a new dental bridge is cemented into place, the bonding agent cures within a few hours. That being said, we advise not chewing on that side of your mouth for the rest of the day.
